Denise Jackson

Denise Jackson is a British abstract artist working from a secluded garden studio in Dorset. Drawn to rich texture and fearless colour, she creates bold impasto landscapes and city-inspired works that emerge entirely from imagination.

Colour is at the heart of her practice. Denise works instinctively, reaching for soft pastels and luminous pinks and blues that spark joy, then setting them against unexpected contrasts. Using palette knives, brushes, sponges and scraping tools, she drags and layers thick paint, often working over whole canvases and scraping back to reveal hidden depths. Each piece builds organically, shifting direction as emotions change, until it radiates the energy she wants viewers to feel—vibrant, uplifting, and alive.

Her work balances freedom and structure, texture and light, inviting the eye to wander and the mind to rest. Like the best abstract art, it captures not a place but a feeling—powerful, joyful and deeply human.
