Bob Dylan

Overview

Bob Dylan is not only a legendary musician but also a visual artist. His artworks reflect spontaneity, experimentation, and curiosity. From his Drawn Blank series to later works, Dylan explores colour, mood, and everyday subjects, showing a creative spirit across paintings, prints and metalworks.

Bob Dylan’s Drawn Blank series shows another side of his creativity beyond music. First sketched in the late 1980s and later turned into paintings, the works feature simple lines and shapes filled with different colours. Dylan often painted the same image many times, changing the colours to give each version a new mood or feeling. The subjects are everyday things—landscapes, people, buildings—presented in a loose and relaxed style. Rather than polished detail, the art feels spontaneous, almost like a visual sketchbook.
