Azzam (Arabic for Determined) was the Abu Dhabi entry in the 2011-2012 Volvo Ocean Race skippered by British double Olympian Ian Walker (who later went on to win the race in 2014-15). The boat was designed by Farr Yacht Design and built by Persico Marine, Italy. Azzam was destroyed by fire while in a shipyard in France in January 2015. On close inspection of the photo there are three people on the bow, from r-l, Wade Morgan, USA, Justin Slattery, IRE, Adil Khalid, UAE.
