Olorian in Maasai is an African olive tree, a tree that mainly leopards climb, a tree which is a symbol of peace, health, and friendship. The local Maasai gave the name Olorian to this absolutely stunning boy with such incredible eyes he was sheer perfection in every way, I felt so humbled and blessed to spend an hour or so in his company whilst he napped in the midday sun underneath his favourite Olorian tree with not a soul in sight. Total bliss all round I say.

He allowed us over a period of four days to get some amazing shots from inside, outside even under the truck, and all from incredibly close range. We were very blessed to spend many hours with this incredibly imposing yet very passive bull elephant, an experience I’ll never forget.

After looking for three days without any luck It was on our way to the airstrip on our last day Daniel said ‘I know where there are three retired and very angry Generals’ Fifteen minutes later and picture taken we were on our safari link plane heading back to Nairobi, luck was definitely on our side.

I can remember like it was only yesterday the first time I had the privilege of seeing a Zebra in the wild. We we’re traveling from the airstrip in Meru National Park to Elsa’s Kopje (our lodge for the next few days), a stunning place made famous by George and Joy Adamson together with Elsa the lion, star of the award-winning film Born Free. It was on this journey my eureka moment ensued when suddenly from out of nowhere a large dazzle of Zebras crossed the path directly in front of our truck, something so simple I know yet a goose bump moment for me as a childhood dream came true.

I know giraffes look seemingly ungainly and can often be the butt of bad jokes, but I’ve always thought of them as beautiful, majestic, and elegant creatures to observe. Giraffes are the world’s tallest mammals thanks to their towering legs and long necks, although hard to believe they can run at speeds of up to 35 mph over short distances. But personally, for me I can’t help but fall in love with their incredibly curious nature, mesmerising eyes, and eyelashes but above all they make me smile. This particular image was taken from pretty close proximity and on reflection I’d like to think she is smiling at me when in reality she’s just eating a few leaves from her favourite acacia trees.

By Greg Brennan “Every year during the State Opening of Parliament there would be a procession, I knew that would be my best chance of capturing an image I’ve had in my head for decades. I wanted to show HM The Queen in portrait, a modern interpretation of the iconic image that appears on our stamps. Every year I would stand in a different place, at a different height and wait for the moment to arrive. I was determined to capture the image I had in my mind. And determination paid off. It was at the State Opening of Parliament in 2015 when she rode by in full regalia. I took a series of photographs and after she passed, I looked at what I captured. And there it was; I had it. It took me 12 years to take this one, single photograph. By Terry O'Neill "I tried to think of every possible situation that could go wrong. I needed to be overly prepared. In the build-up to the actual day, I don’t remember if I slept a wink." In 1992, Terry O’Neill received an invitation to photograph the Queen for Her Majesty’s official portrait. For a working-class boy who had risen to the top of his profession, this was an honour. "It came as a surprise to me. I never thought of myself in that league. I took photos of Hollywood and rock stars. But the Queen? I never imagined that would happen to me. When she walked into the room, she was larger than life. What I really wanted was to make her smile—I wanted the opportunity to make my photo different. I knew she liked horses, so I told her a horse-racing joke, and she laughed. That’s how I got the moment—the moment the Queen smiled at me."

by Michael Brennan "It was a Sunday and although we weren't sure if our charter plane would be allowed to land, we set off anyway. Upon landing on the small airstrip on Mustique several large coppers met us with strict instructions that we had better not go any closer, which we did. The Royal yacht was moored off Mustique. It had been used by the Queen and Prince Phillip for an extensive trip that included Australia and the South Pacific; the Mustique visit was its final stop. When the Queen came ashore there were just three of us and we were as close as I had ever been allowed before. The Royals, Her Majesty, her sister Princess Margaret and Prince Phillip who was holding an overnight bag which contained the food for a picnic that afternoon. Much has been made of Phillip's role and looking back and seeing him three steps behind his wife and her sister and carrying the goods needed for a pleasant afternoon made it look all rather like a normal family day out. That is, until you took a look at the Royal yacht moored out in the ocean". by Michael Ward "No matter how many times I was sent along to Horse Guards Parade to get a picture of Tooping the Colour, I never felt that I had done it too often, that every possible picture had been taken. Regimental colours were first paraded on the monarch's birthday in 1805, and more than 1,400 soldiers and 400 musicians from ten regimental bands always take part. The Queen is there, on horseback until 1987, and the crowds who turn out are always interesting. I tried to get pictures which showed the humanity of it rather than its military precision..."
